    Outsmart 2005 in NZ Herald

    By Brad

It appears that the Outsmart liquidation has been posted in the classifieds section of the New Zealand Herald: http://www2.nzherald.co.nz/classifieds/linead.cfm?pillar=11&subpillar=42&adid=10902993001 Funny enough, Outsmart was featured in the New Zealand Herald years ago being praised and having an estimated net-worth of $100 million by 2013: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10746609 Oh how times change so quickly. One has to ask, how does a $100 million company go to bankruptcy? What went wrong along the way?  I remember seeing people often purchase the $100-300 packages that SmallWorlds would release. To me, it seems like the player numbers and sales decreased when the new UI was released. I often have friends tell me that the game got changed to cater to children... and well, how would children be able to purchase premium packages? Maybe that’s what went wrong? Am I still in denial? Who knows!
